OUR PASTOR
Pastor Mike Laakko is a graduate of Mass Schools, Mass Michigan. He is a life long resident of Upper Michigan. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served our country proudly. Upon his return from the military he married his wife, Denise in 1976 and have raised three children together Anna, Adam and Allison. They also have two grandchildren.
Pastor Laakko is a graduate of Suomi College, (now Finlandia) in Hancock Michigan. He then attended Carthage College in Kenosha Wisconsin and also graduated from Luther Seminary, being ordained in 1980. Pastor Laakko has served three Parishes Bethany Lutheran of Ishpeming, Mi, Mission in Mass City Michigan and our combined congregations at Bethany Lutheran Church in Amasa and United Lutheran Church in Crystal Falls, Michigan.
